Peta Grzelec, Physiotherapist

The Inspiration for Her Career Choice

Peta Grzelec PhysiotherapistPeta was first inspired to become a physiotherapist during her work experience with the West Coast Eagles physiotherapist at the time during finals week in 1992.

I always played a lot of sport, and worked with sporting teams early on in my career. I enjoyed working in the UK in 2004 and served on a cycling tour in Spain and France. After having children, I was encouraged to work in the field of women’s health as well as continue my musculoskeletal focus. I still enjoy both areas of physiotherapy.”

Education and Professional Development

A 2001 graduate of Curtin University, Peta earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and a Post Graduate Certificate in Continence & Women’s Health. To stay abreast of the latest in the field, she regularly attends continuing education focusing on women’s health and musculoskeletal. She always strives to further her learning and improve her clinical practice as knowledge in the profession progresses.

The Reward of Helping Others

For Peta, being a physiotherapist is always rewarding as she is able to help people achieve their goals, whether it be reducing pain, improving physical performance, assisting them through the perinatal period of their lives or empowering women to address aspects of continence and women’s health.

Outside of Work

When she’s not at Arena Joondalup Physiotherapy, Peta loves being at the beach (her favourite place) with her husband and two daughters. She also enjoys gardening, baking and swimming when she gets the chance. “My children take up most of my spare time and I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
